Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage is a new father.
His wife, Alice Kim Cage, gave birth Monday to a boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage, in New York City, said Cage’s Los Angeles-based publicist, Annett Wolf.
I’m thinking the boy’s gonna need both a college and a psychiatry fund.
Nicolas Cage, formerly Coppola, is a comic book fan as a lot of people know. Former spouse Lisa Marie Presley "made" him sell his comic book collection for $1.6 million in 2002.
He took his name from the Marvel comic book "Nick Cage: Hero for Hire." He was also going to be in that Kevin Smith scripted "Superman Lives" movie that was canned a couple of years ago. He's starring in the Marvel Comics inspired movie "Ghost Rider" (2006).
With a name like Kal-el, I can only hope that the little guy will be able to kick some serious butt on the playground or else he will have it kicked …
I'm thinking of naming our little one Jean Grey if it's a girl, or Bruce Banner if it's green.
