Josie!

I don’t know a whole lot about Archie comics, but I’m pretty sure they used to do stuff like this where people would write in with outfit suggestions.  (Anyone know more about this?)

Anyway, this obviously isn’t from that era, but Shane Glines‘ Josie below is so good, I had to take a second look initially.

Enjoy:

Shane is one of those artists I just adore and would give my left arm to draw like.  (I’d give my right, but that’s me drawin’ arm dontcha know.)

1956 Females by Cole Playboy Napkins

I saw these on Ebay a ways back and knew instantly that I must have them:

females by cole box

They came in a box of 36, although the box I received had only 16 remaining.

I’m assuming the 12 images below would be the complete set (three of each?), but I have no real way of knowing.

OK, I’m gonna get out of the way now and just let them speak for themselves:

jack cole playboy napkin athlete
jack cole playboy napkin available
jack cole playboy napkin craven
jack cole playboy napkin devil may care
jack cole playboy napkin exhibitionist
jack cole playboy napkin glutton
jack cole playboy napkin indecisive

jack cole playboy napkin octogenarian
jack cole playboy napkin persnickety
jack cole playboy napkin prude
jack cole playboy napkin spinster
jack cole playboy napkin virgin

You just have to love Jack Cole. Look at those lines!  WOW!

Go enjoy them in beautiful bigness over at Flickr.
