I’m Sick, GNAC Show, And An Andertoons Contest

Sorry for the lack of posts, responses, and comments on other blogs recently. In addition to settling back into a much leaner cartooning schedule, I’ve spent the last week and a half with a killer sinus/ear infection.

The good news is I’m on some great painkillers, so I’m looking forward to looking at this weeks cartoons in a few weeks.

I’m also looking forward to this weekend in New Yawk with Mike Lynch at the GNAC! If you’re nearby, come and listen to me try to sounds like I know what I’m talking about.

Also, my advertising began today on three different blogs. The first person who can email me and correctly identify one of the participating blogs, will get a special prize!

This Inking Life & Where the Heck I’ve Been Lately

OK, first off, sorry it’s been a week or so since I last blogged. It’s been a good month or so since I felt comfortable with my sales, but last week the floodgates opened and, sadly, the blog pays the price.

I’ve also been futzing with my glasses (two eye appointments and three trips to Lenscrafters that had me wandering the mall a la Mr. Magoo) and my cell phone (that cool new LG Chocolate phone won’t work with my Mac! GRRR!!!). Add to that the impending Anderson family picnic here at the Anderson compound and… Whew!

OK, enough excuses…

Mike Lynch has some great pics up of the GNAC “This Drinking Life” show, including this one of yours truly’s meager additions.

I have to say, having my stuff framed was a weird experience. I always feel a little uptight around other cartoonists, and I was (am) worried that I’d commit some sort of framing faux pas. But things seem to look OK.

Once More, I’m Back…

OK, I’m gonna have to create a new category for “sorry I’ve been gone so long” entries.

Well, there’s a lot to catch up on…

Firstly, as previously noted, we’re officially moved into the new place! I can even find most everything I’m looking for, unless it’s garage related; that looks like a tool filled dirty bomb was detonated.

We’ve ordered some new furniture and I’m working on getting my office set up. I’d show you some pics, but I want the final reveal (thank you “Trading Spaces”) to really knock your socks off.

We’ve also found out what the upcoming Anderson addition’s gender will be… CAUTION! SPOILERS AHEAD!

According to the ultrasound tech who called Henry right, we’re going to be welcoming Bonnie Elizabeth Anderson to the family tree!

Let’s see… I also found out I’ve been accepted into the National Cartoonist Society!

Some of my cartoon buddies have been trying to get me to get on board for some time so I finally filled out the ap, gathered my recommendations, provided my urine sample, and sent it all in. And they BIT!

SUCKERS!!!

Seriously, I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hub-bub is about. At the very least I should get some cool pics at the Reubens in Chicago this year.

Oh, I had a toon in Reader’s Digest recently and I think I have one in the current special edition of HBR. Check ’em out.

Well, that’s about it for now. Like I said, I’ll try to get some pics up as soon as I have something good to show you. And I promise to try to get some decent blogs flowing again.
