Richter 540I love Andy Richter. For my money he’s one of the funniest comic actors out there.

There’s a nice interview with him on NPR today, and this quote especially jumped out at me:

“If you start to just aim for what the audience wants to hear, you’re already hamstrung.”

“So the only thing you can do is do something that you think is funny. And I don’t mean, become a big artist, but do try to tickle your own funny bone as much as you can, and hope that you have a sense of humor people can relate to.”

So true.

Global Positioning Simpson

TomTom has just released a download that makes their GPS devices sound like the ever-popular patriarch of The Simpsons TV show. The company is charging $12.95 in the United States for the opportunity to hear Homer say "woo-hoo!" from inside its little black boxes.

I don’t think I’ll be downloading this, but it’s a really fun idea!

Andertoons Cartoon Blog Moved

Moving-Truck

I hate moving.

When my wife and I moved into this house a few years ago, we swore we’d be here until someone wheeled us out. So when a consultant suggested I moved the Andertoons Cartoon Blog to Andertoons.com I was more than a little hesitant.

I had the blog at Typepad for years and, frankly, it’s gigantic. There’s a huge amounts of text, pics and comments. So, instead of me doing the coding equivalent of hitting the grocery store for egg boxes, I hired a great company called Foliovision to take care of the Typepad to WordPress conversion for me.

As you can see, not only has the blog been moved with nary a character out of place, but it also matches Andertoons.com now too! And the whole time I sat and drank my coffee saying "looks like we might get some rain today."

Sweet!

Anyway, the feed should be working just fine, but you’ll probably want to change your bookmark (although the old blog will redirect you automatically). And, like my house, I’m not moving again for a long looooooong time.
