I’m Back

After more than a few weeks pretty much completely out of the cartoon scene thanks to computers, kids, and that pesky tri-state killing spree (just kidding on that one), I finally got back into the swing of things today and actually wrote, sketched, inked and scanned three new cartoons.

Whew! I gotta tell ya, it felt really good. Not quite Tom Cruise on Oprah good, but close.

I was surprised how easy it was to slip back into routine after so many weeks off. So much better than my old trombone days when taking even a few days off meant weeks of getting your chops fully back together.

Hopefully I can avoid any major crises for at least a few weeks and really sling some ink.

Wipe That Smirk Back On Your Face…

Toiletpaper_1Laff Tissue was originally produced by S.S. Adams Co. in New Jersey in 1959.

Also sold as Laughing Tissue, Laughing Comic Tissue and the After Dinner Roll, the novelty item boasted over 6000 gag cartoons on each roll.

When they say they don’t make cartoon markets like they used to, maybe that’s a good thing…

(BTW, this would make a great birthday present for me if anyone’s still looking!)

You Can Tell A Man By His Bookmarks

Last weekend I worked on moving everything over from my old PC to my shiny new Mac. One of the things I was extremely happy I’d backed up recently was my collection of bookmarks. (Thank you, Firefox!)

As I was restoring and organizing them in Safari (Sorry, Firefox!), it hit me that a person’s bookmarks folder tells a lot about them. Then it hit me that this whole Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes thing stinks of yet another attempt to convince us Tom is straight. Then bookmarks again.

So, without explanation here’s a list of some of most used non-cartoon bookmarks:

Netflix

Katie’s Kisses

Satellite News

The Virtual Weber Bullet

Superhero Hype

Chicago Public Radio

Amazon

Indy

Anchor Knot

Well, there you go – infer what you will.

I’d be interested to see what these say about me if any of you are so inclined!
