Feel Better Batman

So I’ve been feeling really crummy on and off for about a month now. But between both kids also being sick and a deluge of cartoon work, I didn’t get into the doctor until yesterday afternoon.

Surprise surprise, I’ve got varying infections in varying places, and, long story short, I’m officially sick. But here’s the upside…

While I was out procuring my prescriptions, the boy did this for me:

In case you can’t read it it says:

Hi Dad! Nobody likes being a sicko so I made this to cheer you up! Happy Holidays, Henry.

I’m still sick, but I feel great.

My Mom’s Painting

My mom retired a while back, and she’s gotten to finally enjoy some time following one of her passions, watercolor.

She’s been on a tear lately, painting furiously and winning awards at some art fairs. Above is her latest and I thought it would be fun to show her off a bit and see where I inherited my art ability from. (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

Apparently people have been pestering her for prints of this and previous work. Maybe I’ll have to be her manager. 😉

Sesame Street Art By My Daughter

My 5-year-old daughter loves this old set of Sesame Street books that we have around the house. Loves them.

So today while I was upstairs getting another Mountain Dew I noticed she had one out and was busily coloring.

I leaned in to make sure whe wasn’t coloring in the book and was pleasantly surprised to see this:

Not bad huh? I think she might have a few of Dad’s artsy genes. (Insert fatherly beaming smile here.)
