I picked up another deck of cartoon playing cards and posted them over at Flickr.
They’re Harvey Cartoons, and the game is apparently played like Authors, the next step in card game evolution after Go Fish crawls onto the beach.
There’s no copyright date anywhere to be seen, and the cards have a sorta curvy shape “to fit small hands.” (You know, for kids. And carnies.)
I don’t pretend to be any kind of cartoon historian, so anyone know why no Richie Rich or Casper?

Those are really cool. Some of them (Pedro, Inchy, etc.) are so dang obscure that they sound made up!
I remember liking this giant named Stumbo, which, if I remember, was a back up feature in some of the other, more successful Harvey comic books (Hot Stuff and Richie Rich being childhood favorites). He was a gentle giant and there were lots of drawings of rolling farmland, with Stumbo ever so carefully walking softly so as not to accidentally destroy property, stomp a cow, etc. He was a NICE giant, not one of those mean I-smell-the-blood-of-an-Englishman types. Like most of the Harvey characters, he was pretty benign and, well, just a blah kinda personality, to be remembered.
